newsletter heading

Welcome to the first WCF newsletter! Each month (and occasionally more often) we will update you on the progress of the foundation, the latest news and new projects.

After the success of Alumni Reunion we managed to raise over 1000 pounds for the Isla de la Plata Project. We would like to thank each and every one of you who made a contribution or bought an item. If you didn't and would still like to it will be possible very soon through the web site.

The good people at Natwest are opening the foundations bank account at the moment and once that is done we will be working on setting up the internet banking and a scheme to make it possible for people to make small monthly contributions so the foundations work can continue on long into the future.

Thanks for all your support

David RomoWe would like to welcome to the team Dr David Romo, who is now Project Director in Ecuador for the WCF. David will be in charge of finding and establishing new projects in Ecuador. David has a Phd in conservation biology and teaches conservation in one of Ecuador´s leading universities.

Jaime GrijalvoVeterinarian Jaime Grijalvo will be heading out to Isla de la Plata on the 9th of August to begin the work of on the cats. We have an early estimate of 2500 dollars. Since my last visit to the island the population has increased quite dramatically creating a much more severe threat to the native species of the island. We will keep you posted on the projects through the newsletters and the website.
